Urban art in the Torino area can now count upon three complementary and interconnected platforms, mapping and narrating it for professionals, tourists and citizens.
Three different approaches guided the teams that worked in tight synergy to make them as complementary as possible.
The department of the City of Torino in charge of public art, Urban Lab and DIST, the joint Department of the University and Polytechnic of Torino, have been collaborating in the past months to produce maps, information sheets, and pictures. Such materials can be found on these free access and constantly updated tools to discover an extraordinary heritage, a real open-air museum.
Tuesday 21 June at 5.30 PM at Urban Lab (piazza Palazzo di Città 8f) these tolls are presented: the section of the City of Torino’s Geoportal dedicated to urban art, Arte per strada Torino e Metropolitan Geographies.
The projects are explained by Deputy Mayor Carlotta Salerno (education, youth, urban regeneration projects) and Paolo Mazzoleni (General Master Plan, urban planning, private buildings, large scale projects), Elena Dellapiana, as President of Urban Lab, Luca Davico, Paola Guerreschi, Luisa Montobbio (DIST joint Department of the University and Polytechnic of Torino), Marco Ciari (Torino Creativa) and Donato Gugliotta (Geoportale).
