The exhibition organized by Urban Lab (ex Urban Center Metropolitano) showcases images and ideas of the city and places playing a key role in building Torino’s new identity.
Lingotto factory, the old town centre, the industrial areas along the Spina axis and Mirafiori industrial plant. These city landmarks are explored through the photos taken by Bruna Biamino, Michele D’Ottavio and those stored in the Archivio Storico della Città di Torino and Centro Storico Fiat – FCA Partecipazioni.
These snapshots, taken between the end of the 1960s and the 1990s, recall an urban landscape that disappeared following the great and powerful changes due to the progressive shutdown of industrial plants. A metamorphosis which started with the announcement of the competition for the transformation of Fiat Lingotto factory, closed in 1982, and that took shape with the approval of Torino Masterplan in 1995.
