Food Atlas

In 2017, a research team within the University and Polytechnic of Torino published the first Food Atlas of Metropolitan Torino with the aim of investigating the metropolitan food system of Torino.

Thanks to that experience, the Coordination Committee of the Food Atlas of Metropolitan Torino was born in 2019. In addition to Urban Lab, the University  and the Polytechnic University of Torino, the University of Gastronomic Sciences, the Torino Chamber of Commerce, the City of Torino, the Metropolitan City of Torino, Ires Piemonte are part of the project.

The aim of the project is to implement knowledge on the Torino food system, also with a view to promote a systemic vision in support of policies and a culture of healthy, accessible and sustainable food in the Torino metropolitan area.

The Food Atlas is a simple and open tool that suggests to public administrations and businesses possible food policy strategies for a more sustainable, equitable and resilient food management; provides educational content; promotes citizen participation by sharing information and creating groups for specific food-related activities.
