Urban Centers
Network

For several years Urban Lab has been promoting the networking, dialogue and exchange among organizations dealing with public policies at various levels.
In Italy the “Urban Centers Network” was launched in 2017 on the initiative of Urban Lab together with the Foundation for Urban Innovation of Bologna, with the participation of agencies based in Bari, Brescia, Bitonto, Cagliari, Ferrara, Parma and Spoleto.
Thanks to the EUCANET project – European Agencies Network for citizenship, inclusion, involvement and empowerment of communities through the urban transformation process – funded by the Europe for Citizens programme between 2017 and 2019, the network was enriched with European and international experiences.

The main goals shared by such organizations include: mutual learning, exchange of experiences, knowledge and good practices; promoting urban culture, supporting the participation and civic engagement in the urban debate, making citizens more aware of issues such as climate change, quality of life in the city, civic commitment.
