What is the offer of services for sport and recreational activities in Torino? Are the sport facilities in good shape, well distributed and easily accessible? The survey “Sport facilities in Torino” developed by Urban Lab on behalf of Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, tries to answer these and other questions.
The study, both qualitative and quantitative, mainly collects information on public properties (City of Torino, City Districts, Metropolitan authority) or with a public/no profit perspective from the operational point of view.
Through insights, maps, data and graphs it is possible to find out the size, location, territorial distribution, accessibility, typology, property and management of the 575 facilities in Torino. On a sample of 100 facilities, homogeneously distributed in the city districts, the analysis becomes more refined by describing each single asset by type of plant, nature and characteristics of the equipment, complementary technical equipment required for the performance of sports activities at different levels, and more insights on the use of services and target users. The data, collected on the field, also include the level of maintenance, conservation and usability of the built heritage.
The survey, commissioned in 2019, was published in 2020.
